My Story
Barbara Walker has over 40 years of experience in financial and grants management spanning multiple disciplines. Her extensive experience in financial services comprises accounting, auditing, and reporting operations for public corporations, as well as for local, and state government agencies
As a Certified Grants Management Specialist, she has extensive experience in applying, securing, and overseeing funding for various projects. Her expertise in this area has proven to be an asset in her current role as a resource specialist with the City of Little Rock. In this role, she works to secure funding to support services that address economic and social determinants of health in under resourced communities. In addition, she works alongside Neighborhood Associations in grant administration, reporting and compliance.

Barbara received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Philander Smith College, now Philander Smith University in 1990, and her Master of Human Relations and Business from Amberton University in 2004.
Barbara is currently and active member of Elegant Ladies, Inc., a civic organization that assists graduating seniors with scholarships. She was a devoted companion to her husband, Melvin Walker, now deceased for six years. She has three children, seven grandchildren and two great grands. She enjoys spending quality time with her family.
