My Story
Gregory Charles Nettles, a native of Camden, Arkansas, is a 1979 graduate of Camden High School. He attended Northeast Louisiana University, now known as the University of Louisiana- Monroe. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1986 from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
In 1988, Gregory answered the call to ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He attended Rhema Bible Training Institute in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1991. He later worked at Higher Dimensions Evangelistic Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Junior High Youth Pastor, in addition to coordinator over the feeding ministry. He received his Master of Divinity from Jackson Theological Seminary, North Little Rock, May 2023.
His involvement in community and civic engagement has allowed him to serve on the Camden Regional Chamber of Commerce, Civil Service Commission, Ouachita County Democratic Central Committee, and Ouachita County
Ministerial Alliance. He is currently serving in community engagement with the following organizations: FAITH Network, Arkansas Community Engagement Alliance, Center for Research, Health, and Social Justice, NIMHD-MCD, CPEARL, and Project Healing Coalition.
Gregory and his wife, Gladys, have been married 30+ years and have three adult children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He and his wife have a son born with cerebral palsy. Gregory maintains that the learning and lived experience of raising a special needs offspring has allowed them to trust in God, learn the patience of Job, and walk in the fullness of the love of Jesus.
