Stephanie K. Barnes

Stephanie Kaye Barnes began her 37-year career with the Department of Treasury – Internal Revenue Service (IRS) working with the Business Master File. She spent over 6 years as a Tax Examiner where she adjusted business accounts before moving on to lead and supervisory positions. She then spent nearly 2 years as a Focal Point Analyst monitoring and validating large dollar amount pending tax assessments for accuracy, after which she was selected for a position in the Information Technology (IT) Division.
 

Stephanie is a seasoned IT professional with extensive comprehensive experience in application integration, process improvement, requirement analysis, quality improvement, design analysis and software development. She is currently an Information Technology (IT) Specialist – Problem Coordinator with the IRS. 
 

Stephanie is currently general member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In the past she served as treasurer for her then chapter’s philanthropic foundation, Sisters in Service Foundation (SISF).  She loves reading, music and traveling. Besides helping others, she hopes to spend time enjoying good books, listening to great tunes, and visiting new and interesting places when she retires.
