My Story
Tavarez J. Hayman began his 10-year career in public service as an ammunition and explosive technician in the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009, and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, and Marine Combat Training at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Tavarez completed one deployment with the 1st Supply Battalion serving in Operation Enduring Freedom during early 2012 in Afghanistan. Upon returning from deployment, he assumed duties as the Inventory Accuracy Control/Quality Control Section Chief with Ammunition Company aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Duty stations changed to Base Ammunition Chief for Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, GA., where he managed the handling, issuance, receipt, storage and transportation of ammunition and explosives. Upon completing his tour of duty in Albany, he was selected to become a United States Marine Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.
After separating from active duty, he returned home to Little Rock, and is currently the Inventory Manager in the Office of Supply Chain Management at Eugene J. Towbin VA Healthcare Center Fort Roots, where he is responsible for establishing and overseeing effective purchase methods for expendable items.
Tavarez looks to continue providing value as an advocate for Ashley's Kloset.
