My Story
Reverend William Givens, a graduate of Horace Mann High School, attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock majoring in education and political science. He graduated May 9, 2009, Suma Cum Laude, from Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ministry and Leadership. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Christian Ministry from Boyce Bible College.
Reverend Givens is a long-term member (61yrs.) of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church family in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he currently serves as Discipleship Pastor, Sunday school and Bible study facilitator.
His work in community-based outreach ministries span No Limit Soldiers for Christian Athletes under the direction of Keith Jackson at PARKS (Positive Atmosphere Reaches Kids); Chaplain and Coach for Christian Competition Track Club (CCTC) where he works with and mentors youth from ages 5-18; Chaplain and Coach for the Parkview Mustangs Youth Football (5- 6-year-old); Executive Board Member Arkansas FAITH Network; OPAL (Opioid Prevention for Aging and Longevity; Clinton Foundation for Opioid Prevention, and the Mental Health Clinician Community Clergy Collaboration Intervention (VA).
Reverend William Givens has been married for 51 years to Ellna Jean Bruce Givens. They are the proud parents of 4 children, and 10 grandchildren.
